Useful information

Homework

Homework in Willow Class will generally be given out at the beginning of a term with set daily, weekly and termly tasks for the children to complete. Children may bring their books with their completed homework into school any time during the term for us to look at.

Activities will reinforce, extend or consolidate concepts covered in class and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Willow Class team. Thank you 🙂

Spellings/Phonics practice at home

Each Friday your child will bring home either a spelling list or a phonics sounds list to practice at home. These can also be found on the ‘Spellings’ page of the blog.

Spellings for year 1 and year 2 will be tested the following Friday at school.

P.E Lessons

Willow Class will have their PE on Monday. We are also extremely lucky to have Performing Arts on a Thursday afternoon with Mrs Evans where children will need their PE kits. Please can you ensure children come into school on these days wearing their PE kits. Also, please ensure all items of their kit is named!

Reading diaries

The children’s number of reads per week will be counted on a Thursday afternoon. Please ensure children have their reading diaries on this day to ensure that we are up to date and can provide the children with the appropriate reading champion certificates in our Friday Celebration assembly.

Here are the common exception words that the children are expected to be able to spell by the end of key stage 1:

If you need to speak to the teacher, please arrange an appointment at the school office. We don’t have a lot of time to talk in the mornings, so it’s best to arrange for a separate time if you need any additional time.
