Tuesday 23rd February

Good morning to our wonderful willow children,

I’m sure you have all heard the plan for pupils to return to school on 8th March. We are so excited to welcome the children back to the classroom. I realise that a few of you may be coming to end of the exercise books handed out on January 4th. As our return date to school is so close, please can we ask that children use their homework books, a notebook at home, or paper kept in a file to complete the remaining home-schooling tasks.

Here’s a reminder of the timetable this term Term 4 Timetable.

After your PE session, you have Phonics and handwriting, a topic lesson (Year 1&2) or guided reading (Reception), Maths and then a live ‘book club’ session click here to join at 1:30pmand please bring your favourite book along!–  before choosing one of the stories read by your teacher on the storytime page and practising your own reading.

Reply to sign in for today- I’m looking forward to seeing you later!

Year 1: put, push, pull, full, house, our, December.

Year 2: who, whole, any, many, clothes, busy, Christmas, December.

Thank you.

Topic homework

This term, the children are learning all about Toys and this week we have been thinking about how we could find out about toys from the past.

The children came up with the idea about asking their grandparents and parents about the toys they played with when they were little.

This is where we need your help! The children have been set the task to find out about toys from the past by asking people in their family or neighbours or friends some questions. The more information we have, the better our topic will be! The questions they came up with are as follows:

  • What did you play with?
  • Where did it come from?
  • How did you get the toy?
  • What was it made out of?
  • Who did you play with?
  • Where did you play with it?

We also currently have a display table that we are displaying toys from today on, but it would be lovely to add some toys from the past to the display too if the children are trusted to bring them in!! We will ensure that they are not touched if they are very precious!

Thank you for all your support,

Willow Class Teachers

Welcome back!

Welcome back to our class blog! We hope you all had a restful summer and are back into the swing of things now 🙂

The children have been amazing returning to school and we are thoroughly enjoying being back together again!

We have had a busy few weeks with settling in our new reception children to Willow Class and getting used to the way the class will run. We also have new ways of teaching English and Guided reading which the children (and teachers) are getting to grips with! The children really have been fantastic!

As always, we are both available to chat to at the beginning and end of the day near the gate 🙂

We thank you for your support with getting the children back into school and into routine.

Thanks again,

The Willow Class team!
